Western Turbo and Fuel Injection employs licensed technicians who are available to perform Manitoba Government Safety Inspections on most makes and models of automotive, light and heavy duty vehicles and equipment.
It's the law. Manitoba Government Safety Inspections.
Whether you own a big rig or a passenger car that you plan to register within the province of Manitoba, your vehicle must pass a safety inspection. Here's what you need to know.
Designed to make sure all commercial, public, and private vehicles meet minimum safety standards before being driven on Manitoba roads, these government safety inspections are completed by licensed technicians and include review of the steering, suspension, tires, brakes, exhaust, lights and supporting framework.
After the inspection, you'll receive a valid safety inspection certificate allowing you to register the vehicle. In Manitoba, this certificate is called a Certificate of Inspection or COI.
Manitoba vehicle inspections for semi truck tractors, buses, commercial trailers and other heavy duty trucks are required every six or twelve months depending on the weight and type of vehicle. Commercial buses and truck tractors with a gross vehicle weight rating over 21,953 kg must be inspected every six months, all others annually.
A car or truck acquired for personal use, either new or used, requires an inspection prior to registration and then can be driven without another inspection until the vehicle is sold. Private vehicles sold to immediate family members or received as part of an inheritance do not require another inspection.
Are you moving to Manitoba and bringing a car or truck along with you? You'll need a current COI to register the vehicle.
Own a fleet of diesels that need periodic inspections? We can set up regular truck inspections so your business never misses a beat.
